A new exhibit is on from now until December at Discovery North Bay Museum.

“North Bay’s Great War” focuses on the contribution that North Bay made to the First World War one hundred years ago.

The exhibit is divided into sections that focus on recruitment and training, the daily life of soldiers, the battlefield, and commemoration.

The exhibit features local uniforms, weapons, diaries, and photos.

The exhibit also features the stories of local soldiers, doctors, and nurses.

Discovery North Bay Museum will hold a public opening for the exhibits on September 2nd from 10-12 a.m.

Volunteer curators will give a brief presentation followed by time for exhibit viewing and interviews. Family members of the soldiers profiled will be invited to attend the opening.

Museum volunteers will be at the museum on Saturday September 12th and Saturday November 7th to help visitors conduct research on family members who served during World War 1 and to help identify and provide information about World War 1 collectibles and memorabilia.
