Yup, bring on the competition bureau

When Councillor Mike Anthony proposed asking the Competition Bureau to take a look a city gas prices, we decided to do a little mini-survey of our own this weekend.

While you can find some stations, in the north end of the city, selling in the 1.17.9 range, prices for the most part have rebounded from the lows of last week, even as oil prices continue to drop.

If you are heading south, try and make Huntsville where regular gas is much cheaper.

On a drive to Huntsville Sunday afternoon, we couldn't find a single gas station, in the small towns that dot the drive, nearing 1.22.9.

In fact in Huntsville itself, about 70 minutes south, prices are about 13 cents a litre cheaper, at 1.09.9.

You can still find some deals in North Bay.

Just west of the city, Chester's is selling for 1.11.7.

The Canadian Tire in Sturgeon Falls is selling regular at 1.11.9.

The average price in Ontario today is 1.10.9.
