Big party kicks off!

A midway and a downtown Midnight Madness Sale were in full swing as dignitaries gathered to officially launch the festival.

Here's the schedule for Friday:

On Saturday and Sunday Cheapskates will offer FREE Secure Bike Parking on the Summer in Park grounds.

Cheapskates will be located in a secure area,providing supervised bike parking between 11 a.m. and 5 p.m.

This allows families and individuals to leave the car at home, hop on their bikes and take in the festivities worry free.  

Dignitaries and members of the Summer in the Park organizing committee officially kicked off the celebration Thursday night at the corner of Main and Ferguson.
