A woman has drowned, and a man is missing in a boating accident near Temagami.
OPP say they were called yesterday afternoon at around 3 p.m. to Red Squirrel Lake due to a boat that had been found without its occupants.
Investigation indicated that there were two passengers on the boat and for reasons unknown at this time, they did not return safely to shore.
A 51-year-old woman from Harris Township was discovered in the water and pronounced dead at the scene. One man is still missing.
No names have been released.
The OPP Marine Unit, the OPP Aviation Services – Helicopter Section, Ornge Air Ambulance, the Bear Island Police, the OPP Snow machine, All Terrain Vehicle, and Vessels Enforcement Team (SAVE), the OPP North Bay Forensic Identification Services (FIS), and the OPP Underwater Search and Recovery Unit (USRU) are assisting with this ongoing investigation.
OPP say further information will be released as it becomes available.
