Those remains found in Duchesnay Creek yesterday aren't human say the OPP.

The remains were located in the water by a group of hikers around 1 p.m. and they immediately reported the incident to North Bay Police.  OPP was notified and the North Bay OPP Crime Unit and the OPP Forensic Identification Services were called in to assist.

One of the hikers told BayToday that he noticed the remains between two large rocks just before the crossing bridge just upstream from the falls.

Further investigation was conducted by a forensic anthropologist from the Ministry of Community Safety and Correctional Services and the remains have been deemed non-human.

OPP investigators were on scene for approximately three and a half hours.
