A Sturgeon Falls grocery store was closed all day Saturday as police investigated a theft which was centred in the pharmacy.

West Nipissing Police Inspector Ray St. Pierre told BayToday.ca that the culprits broke into the No Frills grocery store located on the east end of Sturgeon Falls on highway 17 late Friday night or early Saturday morning.   The police responded at 7:50 am.

“The culprits deactivated alarms and went into the pharmacy and stole prescription medication and then made their way to the office to try and get into a safe, but they were unsuccessful,” stated St. Pierre.

West Nipissing Police still are working on the cash value of the stolen drugs as the investigation continues.

The No Frills store was re-opened for regular business on Sunday.
