The North Bay and District Humane Society alongside the Ontario SPCA executed a warrant on Monday and seized more than 70 non-farm animals from a property in Trout Creek.

Nicole Driscoll, an Ontario SPCA inspector, wouldn’t get into detail where the property was located or what types of animals were seized.  She only stated they were “various types of animals.”

Driscoll would not comment on the condition of the animals either.

“Right now we are addressing their overall care and they are in the veterinarians hands at this point and our focus at this time is ensuring their overall safety and medical conditions are being addressed at this point,” she said.

No word yet whether the owner of the animals will be charged.

“With any investigation that we deal with we do enforce the Ontario SPCA act as well as the Criminal Code of Canada in relation to animal offences,” said Driscoll.
