An OPP Search and Recovery team along with a boat and divers were seen conducting a search of Jennings Lake;  a small, marshy body of water off highway 11 just south of the city.

The location is less than a kilometre North of the location where a shoe and human remains were found by some university students back in early June.  That case is now in the hands of the Coroner's office.

The North Bay Police Service, who called in the Unit, stated the Search and Recovery Team was brought in to look for evidence connected to an old case and would say no more.

Police would not clarify if the search had any connection with the case in June.

The OPP Underwater Search and Recovery Unit (U.S.R.U.) is comprised of 13 full-time divers, and is responsible for providing safe underwater search and recovery operations throughout Ontario.

The Unit assists the OPP and other police services and agencies primarily in the search for missing persons, evidence of major crimes and explosive disposal.
