BioPed in North Bay has been named "Business of the Year" for northeastern Ontario by the "Influential Women of Northern Ontario Awards". Photo by Jeff Turl.
The IW program was launched in 1997 in order to seek out, honour and profile women in Northern Ontario who contribute to the North’s economic success and expansion.
"It’s truly an honour to be the recipient of this award, especially considering there are so many great and deserving businesses across northern Ontario," BioPed owner Crystal Kaufman told BayToday.
"Being able to grow a successful business in my hometown has been very special to me. It has been very rewarding to pursue my passion for helping others while providing a valuable health care service."
Over 100 influential women have been recognized since the program’s inception. The roster of award winners continues to grow.
The Northeast IW Awards Gala Dinner is being held this evening in Sault Ste. Marie.
“We are so proud to be recognizing exceptional women in the North” says IW Founder, Patricia Mills. “Each year we receive more and more nominations.”
