---

Not sure we'll make it this time but the Battalion is 10-18 in 28 playoff overtime games.

---

Great chance for McKenzie as he jams one at the side of the net, but denied by Appleby.

---

Great solo effort by Bratina but turned aside by Appleby. The Gens have taken the fans out of the game.

---

Kyle Wood is 19 tomorrow.

---

Spoke to these two at the tailgate party....

Me: Is this your first time in North Bay?

Bobbie-Lynn; No we live here. Ken Appleby is my cousin.

Well, that explains the T shirts:)

Bobbie-Lynn Shank, Mike Breadmore and their 3 month old son Drewan.

---

Battalion trying hard but have come out flat.

----

Cirelli and Dal Colle get the assists at 9:47.

---

This is not looking good...Gens now outshooting Troops 15-7 despite all the Troops PP time.

---

Smith down....Matt Mistele puts it into a yawning cage!!!! 2-0 Osh. TV timeout. Mistele's 8th of the playoffs.

---

Vande Sompel a great chance, shoots wide...rebound put through the crease....best chances on this PP go to Osh. Penalty over...no shots in 4 minutes.

----

NB has basically been given a 4 min PP but need to generate some shots. Fans very restless.

---

McCarron goes right back in the box for hooking just after serving his diving penalty.

---

Troops can't get set up. PP over, another wasted opportunity. No shots on goal this time.

---

Lacklustre PP...a few fans booing.

---

Moutrey levels McCarron after the whistle next to the net but its the Gens player who gets the gate. PP Troops. Two minutes for diving!!!

---

Bratina hurt by a Desrocher slapshot from the blueline. Heads straight to the bench.

---

Jake smith, aside from the first goal, has been good. Smith is 10-3-1 with one shutout, 1.99 goals-against average and .928 save percentage in 14 appearances, improving his career record to 23-11-4 with four shutouts, 2.28 average and .916 save percentage

---

2nd looks much like the 1st so far...need some firewagon hockey.

---

The Troops are 5-1 at home this post-season, improving the Battalion’s all-time playoff record at North Bay Memorial Gardens to 13-4

---

You can see by the stats, the NB PP needs to step up....just 1 of 16 while Osh is 6 for 23.

---

Troops win opening faceoff. Time for some desperation hockey boys!

---

Refs are out...2nd about to start.

---

Bob McIntyre surprised with "Fan of the Year" award. Thanks his next door neighbour Bonnie Ethier for inventing the North Bay cheer.....nice acceptance speech. Bob is the one with the bullhorn and army helmet...When I say North Bay you say go!!!

---

Here's how the teams have done so far in the series.

I think the confusion is that it has to be a legit attempt by a player to score a goal, and can't be a clearing shot for example. It usually has to be a shot from inside the blueline.

--

Hope you can read this. It defines a shot on goal (sog) by the OHL.

---

Nick Paul to Zach Bratina....wide open net but misses with one second left. Period over now. Score 1-0 Gens and SOG 10-6, also for Gens.

----

Problem with Appleby's mask delays play. McIvor shoots....great chance...scramble in front of gens net.....puck cleared.

---

Liberati rings one off the crossbar. Osh kills penalty. Less than a minute left.

---

Amadio almost tips one in.

---

Three minutes to go...goaltender interference call to Lindberg 17:08. NB on PP.

---

Where's the hitting? Both sides playing very conservative hockey. Neither team looking sharp.

---

Penalty killed....McIvor a point shot but Appleby has it on his chest.

---

Shots now 9-2 Gens...even owner Scott Abbott's box is quiet.

---

McCarron shot from close in but breaks stick. Nice save Smith. Then lies out flat to make another....shot from point...bounces before Smith and goes between his legs but he squeezes and keeps the puck out.

---

Gens send it through the crease, but no-one there to tap it in.

---

First penalty goes to Matt Santos for hooking @ 11:35. Gens PP.

---

Plenty of Gens fans in the crowd but not as noisy as NB fans in Oshawa.

---

Except for the Desrocher hit very little physical play so far this period but plenty of whistles.

---

TV timeout....shots 3-1 for Osh and they lead 1-0. As I was saying, the off ice officials are taking heat for the SOG's so I photo'ed the official OHL sheet outlining what exactly a SOG is. I'll post it later.

---

Nick Paul on a partial breakaway....passes off to Moutrey who can't handle the puck. Big missed opportunity.

---

Play about even but at the half way point in the period nb has only1 sog.

---

Was just the Gens 2nd shot of the game. J Smith should have had it imo.

---

Two on one for Gens......H Smith scores on a weak shot. 1-0 Gens. Unassisted a 6:04.

---

Off ice officials say they have taken a lot of heat about SOG this playoff run.

---

Santo gets first sog after about 5 mins and good scoring chance also. Appleby mishandles the puck and it squirts through the blue paint.

---

Almost 5 mins gone and no shot on goal by either team, no chances either.

---

Desrocher levels Baird.

---

Puck is dropped...here we go!

---

Strobe light is cranked up...here come the Troops to a standing, thunderous ovation.

---

Tank is inflated and both teams are ready to skate out on the ice. Gens are out to loud boos.

---

The crowd is getting restless and the lights are being dimmed...didn't see a sold out sign on the door when I came in at noon, and the great weather may be working against them. Sarge is out waving his green 7th man flag. May need the earplugs today, even the music is deafening.

---

If the Troops win the series they'll go on to face Connor McDavid and the Erie Otters as they dropped the Soo in six games. I believe the Soo was a favorite to win that one. McDavid had a goal and four assists as the Erie Otters became Western Conference Champions for the first time since 2002 on Saturday night with a 7-3 victory in Game 6.

---

Game 7 if necessary, tomorrow at 7 p.m. in Oshawa.

---

It's do or die for the Battalion this afternoon, a loss sends them out of the playoffs, a win and they live to fight another day back in Oshawa. This may be the last chance for these fans to see many of these players. They're off the ice...Zambonis are standing by.
