KFM radio in North Bay held a ribbon cutting this morning to celebrate a move from its old studios on Algonquin Ave. to new ones in Northgate Shopping Centre.

"The old spot served us well, but we were really bursting at the seams. We have another full-time staff on board and a lot of part-timers," Station Manager Dean Belanger told BayToday.

"We were a little isolated on Algonquin and we just weren't getting people physically coming into the station. We just wanted to be in the community, so Northgate came along after we looked at about a dozen places. We thought this is really unique to have a radio station in a mall, so to be a part of the community here, the hub of shopping in North Bay, to be upstairs it's been a great move for us."
