The six year old child is dead after an accident while on a walk with his father yesterday in Sequin Township near Parry Sound..
OPP say they were called to a missing child incident near Rankin Lake Road in Seguin Township just before 6 p.m.
Family and civilian volunteers started a ground search before OPP special units, the Canine and Emergency Response Team arrived.
Officers found the child wedged under a large rock.
The initial investigation reveals that the boy was climbing on rocks and the rocks shifted, pinning the boy underneath.
Cardio-pulmonary resuscitation efforts were administered and the child was immediately transported to hospital, but later died.
The boy has been identified as Fynn Bywater of Seguin Township.
