The Canadian Hockey League today announced that top 2015 NHL Draft prospect Connor McDavid of the Erie Otters is the CHL Player of the Week for the playoff week ending April 12 recording 12 points including seven goals and five assists with a plus-minus rating of plus-8 in three games.

McDavid helped the Otters gain a 3-0 series lead against the London Knights in the OHL’s Western Conference Semi-Finals with a trio of multi-point games.  He earned first star honours in the first two contests beginning with a four-point performance scoring two goals and two assists in a 5-2 win in Game 1 on Thursday, then set a franchise playoff record with five goals in Game 2 on Friday leading the Otters to a 7-3 victory.  He finished the week by collecting three assists as part of Sunday’s 4-1 victory in Game 3 of the series.  The Otters visit the Knights for Game 4 tonight

Hello and welcome to game three of te best of seven Eastern Conerence Semifinal Series between the North Bay Battalion and the Barrie Colts. Series tied at one. Players are out for the warm up.

This is the scene outside Memorial Gardens, an exhibit by Hockey Canada celebrating 100 years. You can tour it free tomorrow.

Some news to report, six Battalion prospects will take part in this year’s OHL Gold Cup. First round pick Brady Lyle will play for team NOHA. He’ll be joined by Eric Allair, Bradley Chenier, and Daniel Walker.

Jacob Ball will suit up for OMHA Black and Joseph Franzin will play with team OMHA White. The Gold Cup takes place May 7th-10th in Kitchener.
