Some very special guests have been visiting Kevin and Big Mike at the Sears Court during the Longest Morning Ever radio-a-thon.

Isaac and Domonique Dubie, identical twin brothers, stopped by and spoke on the air.  The twins are last year’s NADY Ambassadors and there was a big difference when they showed up this year.

Neither of the boys is in a wheelchair.

“It really is a miracle,” stated Tammy Dubie, the twins’ mother.

This year’s NADY Ambassador Dylan Rivenbark visited Kevin and Big Mike earlier today.

“Dylan was by first thing this morning, he was our first guest,” Kevin stated in an interview.

The Nipissing Association for Disabled Youth (NADY) and Rotary4Kids announced the launch for the Longest Morning Ever last week.  As of this morning, the radio-a-thon is on.

Tessa Clermont, vice president of Rotaract, the young professionals’ division of Rotary, helped with the volunteers responsible for collecting the pledges being called in.

This year's goal is $53,000.

“People can call in and make a pledge, then they can bring it to us with cash, check or a credit card,” Clermont explained.

Payments can also be done over the phone by credit card at 705-492-7330. Donations can be made through Paypal or by credit card at www.rotary4kids.ca.

There’s also an anonymous cash donation jar at the Sears Court in the Northgate Shopping Centre.

Anyone who donates can issue a challenge for others to pledge which will be read on the air. If an e-mail address is provided, an official income tax receipt will be sent by e-mail.

The Longest Morning Ever will last 53 hours.  At 7 a.m. on Thursday morning, it will move to Burger World on Hammond Street for a pancake breakfast. The final tally of donations will be revealed at 10 a.m.
