The public will have an opportunity tonight to voice concerns about wind turbines.

Nipissing MPP Vic Fedeli is holding what he calls a "town hall" meeting at the Davedi Club on Airport Road between 6:30 and 8 p.m.

"It's non-political," Fedeli told BayToday. "It's based on information from the auditor-general and the Ontario Society of Professional Engineers.

Innergex Corporation is proposing a wind turbine farm just north of North Bay. There were concerns about the turbines affecting the Jack Garland Airport but the company has agreed to keep them at least 15km away from runways.

"No matter where it's located in Ontario, it adds to your hydro bill," says Fedeli.

"The auditor-general tells us that it's going to cost jobs. For every one job created in the so called 'green energy sector' we lose two jobs throughout Ontario. Because wind power is inefficient, it raises the price of hydro right across the board which has driven 300 thousand manufacturing jobs out of Ontario."
