It appears the band Big Sugar doesn't appeal to the musical tastes of this city.

The Capitol Centre says in a news release that the Acoustical Sounds of Big Sugar is cancelled due to low ticket sales.

The show went on sale December 4, 2014 and sales were very slow from the start. With almost two months of sales it sold just under 100 tickets.

"The Capitol Centre is a 932 seat venue and couldn’t move forward with the show due to a huge financial loss and not wanting to in any way have a performance detrimental to these amazing artists," says Dee Adrian, General Manager.

“You can’t have 13 people on stage and only 100 in the seats and to reduce the theatre to our more intimate setting, puts additional tech costs in the already negative position.

"At the end of the day the performer’s credibility is at stake and all agreed on the importance of not going forward even though venues do not like to cancel any shows."
