Local man wins car in Superbowl contest

A North Bay man has more reason than most to watch the NFL Super Bowl XLIX on Sunday.

A North Bay man has more reason than most to watch the NFL Super Bowl XLIX on Sunday.

That's because Alan Lauziere, owner operator of ALZ Window Service, will be announced as the Grand Prize Winner of a 2015 Nissan Murano SL AWD during a Nissan commercial to be played during the game.

"It's awesome," an excited Lauziere told BayToday.

Lauziere says he just found out Tuesday after receiving a phone call advising him of his big score.

"They called me and said 'Get to your computer because we sent you something. You've got till 11:59 to respond and fill out the questionnaire and the skill testing question or we'll have to pull another name', because they had to get the commercial ready."

Lauziere won't have his picture on screen, but his name will be announced, and that he's from North Bay.

His wife Connie played a part in the win.

"You know you watch the football playoffs over the weekend and they have Nissan commercials and they have this thing where they have keywords or a password that you put into the Nissan NFL site, and put in perhaps, 'Nissan power sun roof'---the word for the day. The next week it may be 'leather interior'.

"Literally I didn't get off the couch cuz my wife was at the computer and I said 'Hey punch my name in and do this'.

"We did four or five. I'm the lucky one but she certainly helps out in any was she can."

Lauziere will be contacted directly by Nissan to pick up the vehicle after the announcement on Super Bowl on Sunday,

The estimated audience for the game is over 100 million fans around the globe.
