The city is holding a public meeting to discuss road access for ATV's.

It's scheduled for February 18th, from 5 to 9 p.m. at City Hall.

The Highway Traffic Act allows the City of North Bay to pass by-laws permitting and regulating the operation of All Terrain Vehicles on City roads.

There has been considerable pressure by the North Bay ATV Club and its president Nelson Fletcher over the past year to open up some city roads to the vehicles.

Currently ATV’s are not permitted on city roads unless they are properly licensed.

"The City is collecting information and public input to determine if the City should pass a by-law to provide access for unlicensed ATVs on city roads," says Community Development Facilitator Bryan Kimber in a news release.

"Access can range from making the entire City accessible to ATVs, or a limited number of roads with restricted operating times."

If you are not able to attend, you can forward your comments on or before February 18, to: [email protected].
