The Heritage Gardeners are presenting a session called “Local Food - Local Farms”, about why community supported agriculture (CSA) is important to farmers. It takes place Saturday, January 17, from 2:00-3:00 p.m .

It takes place Saturday, January 17, from 2:00-3:00 p.m. at Discovery North Bay Museum, 100 Ferguson St., North Bay.

The afternoon is free.

Midlothian Valley Farm is a 7 acre organic farm in its 5th year of operation just outside of Burk's Falls.

It is a family run business and a subsidiary of Gypsy Whole Foods with over 20 years experience in the health food industry.  

The farm believes in being totally visible to its members and customers to show how food is grown, where is it grown and who is growing your food.

·         What is a Community Supported Agriculture Program (CSA)

·         Why a CSA is important for your farmer

·         Why a CSA is important for you

·         As part of the presentation there will be a slide show of the farm

A Master Gardener will be on hand to answer any gardening or plant related questions.

This session is free but donations are always welcome.

Participants may also wish to participate in the twoonie raffle in support of Heritage Gardeners.
