The local health unit has been quiet on the issue of a destruction order handed to Rob Szalas' dog Dunaj.

But it says it's now willing to talk---tomorrow.

Spokesperson Jill Faulkner says in a news release this evening, "We had intended to have a statement regarding the dog bite case out to you today. However, due to the lateness of the pre-hearing we will now be sending out the media release tomorrow morning."

The pre-hearing took place at 2 p.m. this afternoon. Still no news on that to report

It is expected that the pre-hearing will set a date, likely January 5th at the Best Western, for a full hearing of the Health Services Appeal and Review Board.

Unlike the pre-hearing, it will be open to the public.

Meanwhile, Szalas told BayToday that he is appreciative of the support he is receiving "from around the world".
