Two are in Muskoka.

And there may be more.

"It's a 12 million dollar deficit," Nipissing Communications Officer told BayToday. "The restructuring is ongoing so I wouldn't be surprised, but I honestly don't know."

This is the first phase of a restructuring plan.

Five positions were cut last Thursday and Friday, and another five were laid off this Monday.

"Any restructuring that goes on will be working to not impact our students---so faculty and support, they may be affected but we're going to do everything we can to make sure that our students are not negatively impacted," said Pipe.

OPSEU Local 608 President Rob Boulet confirmed his members were not affected "at this time", but definitely expects some layoffs, probably in January or February.

Nipissing University’s Board of Governors approved the 2014-15 budget in early June and it projected a deficit of $11,865,864.

The university is projecting revenues of $67,592,720 and expenses of $79,458,584.

Nipissing President Dr. Michael DeGagne was out of town and unavailable for comment.
