Sheldon Forgette has accepted the role of budget chief for the city of North Bay according to a Facebook post....at least for now.

On Tanya Vrebosch's Facebook page she writes "I got a call from the Clerk as Sheldon Forgette has accepted the role as Budget Chief so now it's my turn to choose Community Services or back to Engineering and Public Works. Thoughts?"

Forgette replies, " I have to accept the position from the city clerk because they need an answer ASAP otherwise they are stuck and cannot plan. I am still taking a day to think on whether i want to fully accept as I can still decline the position of Budget Chief."

Vrebosch then replies, "You can take all the time you want Sheldon Forgette. Call her today and let her know you need more time to decide."

Forgette told BayToday this morning that he will probably make a final decision in no more than a day or two.

Forgette topped the polls Monday taking the deputy mayor role. Traditionally the top finisher is also the budget chief.

However, councillor George Maroosis has suggested the traditional route be scrapped, with the mayor choosing committee chairs.

Mayor Al McDonald said Monday evening he would be willing to consider that option.
