When Bobbi Buckley lost her friend to breast cancer, she felt the need to do something. Each year she participated in breast cancer awareness campaigns and did what she could for the cause. However this year she decided to go even further and cut her hair.

“I noticed that it was really, really long and when this year’s campaign started I decided that it was the perfect time to donate it, shared Buckley with BayToday.

Buckley also raised $3000 through her work by doing weekly 50/50 draws, penny sales and draws for Battalion tickets.

Co-workers and friends also paid the minimum $20 to shave off a strip of her hair, which will be sent to the Canadian Cancer Society. Donated hair is used to make wigs for people who lose their hair during cancer treatment.

Buckley says it was an emotional day but has no regrets shaving her locks for a good cause.
