A North Bay woman faces charges following a North Bay Police investigation into suspected fraudulent activity related to Ontario Disability Support Program (ODSP) housing benefits she received over a period of several years.
From December 2007 to December 2013, police say a woman falsified submissions to the ODSP, related to rent, resulting in the ODSP overpaying her over by $25,000.
As a result of the investigation, North Bay Police have charged Tanya Jane Spurvey, age 38, with one count of fraud over $5,000, five counts of uttering a forged document, one count of possession of property obtained by crime, and one count of attempted fraud.
She was released from custody with a court date scheduled for November.
