The past few weeks have seen a significant amount of precipitation within the North Bay-Mattawa Conservation Authority watershed, says a news release issued by the organization.

As a result, stream flows have been higher than normal. This trend is expected to continue as ground conditions remain saturated.

More favourable weather conditions are expected for the remainder of the week.

There is no significant precipitation forecasted over the next 5 days, while daytime temperatures will begin to rise.

Daytime temperatures are expected to rise to above 10˚C by the end of the week which is above normal for this time of year.

These conditions should help to reduce stream flows within the watershed.

As flows remain higher than normal, all residents, especially those in low lying areas, are encouraged to monitor the conditions that are developing.

Parents are encouraged to keep their children and pets away from watercourses.
