Rain and high winds curtailed the North Bay & District Unit of the Multiple Sclerosis Society of Canada, hosting the second annual Health and Wellness Day Saturday.

The weather wreaked havoc on the North Bay Farmers’ Market as well, as the winds blew down some of the merchant's tents, and heavy rain sent customers surrying.

Over a dozen local non-profit organizations and health-related businesses were to take part in the event, offering members of the public an opportunity to learn about the services available in our area.

The health and wellness event was designed to benefit individuals living with a chronic disease as well as those who care for them.

Many local residents dealing with a serious condition may not know where to turn; this event brings them together with some of the health service providers in the area to facilitate the sharing of information.
