They should have bought a map!

On Friday at approximately 8:50 a.m. OPP officers were patrolling in Parry Sound when they were flagged down by a motorist traveling the same direction. The officer pulled to the shoulder of the road and spoke with the driver.

The woman was lost and started asking for directions to Toronto.

The officer noticed damage to the front of the vehicle that had not been reported.

Investigation revealed the driver was on release conditions not to associate with several parties, some of which were passengers in her vehicle. 

In addition the officer noted the odour of marijuana emanating from the vehicle’s interior.

As a result, four of the car’s occupants were arrested.

A 20 year old Hamilton woman has been charged with fail to comply with the conditions of an undertaking, as well as possession of a controlled substance. 

A 20 year old Hamilton man is also charged with fail to comply with undertaking, obstructing police, and possession of a controlled substance.

The two remaining male passengers, both of Hamilton were released on appearance notices and will appear in court on Possession of a controlled substance.

Meanwhile OPP reports someone went to a lot of effort to steal an ATV.

Police were contacted regarding the theft of an All-Terrain Vehicle on North Pickerel River Access Road in Mowat Township.
Investigation revealed that a 6 wheel Polaris Utility Vehicle used by Hydro One had broken down.

The utility vehicle was not driveable therefore it would have had to have been either dragged out of the bush or loaded on a trailer.

The theft occurred between September 4 and 8.
