Someone stealing native fish

Anishinabek Police are reporting that on the 14th of July, the Nipissing First Nation Fisheries building was broken into and a large amount of vacuum packed frozen fish was stolen.

Meanwhile, on July 11th, Police responded to the old Nipissing First Nation Daycare located in Garden Village following a report of vandalism.

Police charged two young people for causing extensive damage inside the building.

The building’s inside structure was damaged and fire extinguishers were also discharged causing further damage to the building. 

Both offenders will be attending court to answer to these charges.

And, on the July 27th the Anishinabek Police and the OPP conducted a joint R.I.D.E. check on Hwy 17 near the Nova Beaucage, Nipissing First Nation turn-off.

A car was stopped and officers detected a smell of marijuana.

Two women were arrested and charged for the possession of a schedule 1 substance.

Both females were released; one adult and one young person.

Police remind citizens of the dangers associated with driving while under the influence of drugs.
