More charges have been laid in that barbeque battle between neighbours on Aberdeen Avenue, just over a week ago.

As BayToday reported on Saturday July 19th, two separate family BBQs at residences on Aberdeen Avenue turned violent over noise issues.

A witness told BayToday that the argument started when one neighbour complained the other had two motor homes parked on the road.  The elderly neighbour told his neighbour this isn't a trailer park.

Witnesses say baseball bats were pulled out and two men were eventually taken to hospital by ambulance.

That evening, Raymond Thomas, a 36-year old Hamilton man, was charged with assault causing bodily harm. Witnesses say he was trying to protect his grandfather.

Following a further investigation into the incident, police now report that two North Bay men have also been charged.

Thomas is accused of physically assaulting another party-goer, who in turn  used a baseball bat to assault Thomas.

Both men were later transported to hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.

Yesterday, North Bay Police charged Robert Montgomery, 67, of North Bay with one count of assault with a weapon.

After the fight settled down and both families returned to their homes awaiting police arrival, police say another man started yelling threats.

He was holding a bat when police arrived at the scene.

Jeremy Montgomery, age 21, of North Bay, has been charged with one count of weapon dangerous to public peace, and one count of uttering threats.

Both Robert and Jeremy Montgomery were released with conditions, and are to appear in court on Tuesday, September 9th.
