Fleeing teens in stolen car

Three teens face charges today after a police chase of a stolen vehicle early this morning. The car that was reported stolen from the Greater Sudbury area between 12:30 and 2:30 a.m. Shortly before 4 a.m.

Three teens face charges today after a police chase of a stolen vehicle early this morning.

The car that was reported stolen from the Greater Sudbury area between 12:30 and 2:30 a.m.

Shortly before 4 a.m., an OPP officer spotted the three accused driving east on Hwy 17.

When the officer tried to stop them, they put the pedal to the metal.

That started a chase, and as the teens got closer to North Bay, city police were called in to help.

Shortly thereafter, North Bay Police found the car, which was abandoned near Lakeshore Drive, and the three teens, who were arrested close by.

Police charged the driver with one count of possession of property obtained by crime over $5000, one count of flight while pursued by a peace officer, one count of dangerous operating of a motor vehicle, and four counts of breach of probation.

The two passengers were each charged with one count of possession of stolen property obtained by crime over $5000.

All three were held in custody pending bail.
