Crack cocaine, $10,000 seized by cops

A month long investigation paid off for the city police street crime unit yesterday. Last night around 8 o'clock, two men from Hamilton and Toronto were stopped in a rental vehicle.

A month long investigation paid off for the city police street crime unit yesterday.

Last night around 8 o'clock, two men from Hamilton and Toronto were stopped in a rental vehicle.

Police searched the men and the vehicle and found 100 grams of crack cocaine, an amount of marijuana and approximately $10,000.

Charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking and possession of property obtained by crime is Robel Asres, age 27 of Hamilton

Meron Soloman, age 25 of Toronto, is charged with possession of property obtained by crime, possession of marijuana, and possession for the purpose of trafficking.

Both men are in custody and will face a bail hearing today.
