This gives early notice of the potential for flooding based on weather forecasts calling for heavy rain, snow melt, high winds or other conditions.

Environment Canada is predicting winds from the NW at 15 km/h for today, (Armed forces Appreciation Day) and there has been some shoreline erosion because of winds in the past 24 hours.

The level of Lake Nipissing has been slowly dropping and is currently 196.04m above sea level.  This elevation is 9cm above the upper summer operating level.

The lake is expected to continue to gradually decrease over the next few days.

The current weather forecast for the next 5 days is calling for a possible 1-3mm rain.  Cooler than seasonal temperatures are expected with light to moderate winds. Lake levels continue to decline and are approaching the summer operating levels.
