Ottawa duo charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking cocaine

In early 2014 North Bay Police Service Street Crime Team began an investigation into an Ottawa based group of individuals suspected of trafficking cocaine within the City of North Bay.

On April 25th 2014 a vehicle stop was conducted as a motor vehicle was entering North Bay. 

Two Ottawa men were arrested for Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking.

A search of the vehicle revealed 5 individual safes, each containing cocaine. 

A total of 420 grams of cocaine was located within the safes.

The estimated street value of the cocaine is $52,500. 

In addition, a quantity of marijuana as well as cash were located within the vehicle.

Charged are;

1) Anwar Kulaib, age 26 – Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking cocaine, Possession of a Controlled Substance, Possession of Property Obtained by Crime and Breach of Probation.

2) A 30 year old Ottawa man– Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking cocaine, Possession of a Controlled Substance and Possession of Property Obtained by Crime.

Both individuals were held in custody pending a Bail Hearing.
