On March 1, 2014 at approximately 5:31 p.m. while on general patrol, an officer of the Mattawa Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) stopped a vehicle on Highway 17 in Mattawa.
As a result of police investigation the driver, Skyler BATTAMS, 22 of Gananoque and passenger Alexander LOWE, 23, of Elmsley Township were charged with the following:
- Traffick Schedule II Substance- Cannabis Marihuana under 3 kilograms-sec 5(1) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act
- Possession for the purpose schedule II under 3 kg- sec. 5(2) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act
- Possession of a Schedule II substance-Cannabis Marihuana over 30 grams-sec.4(1) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act..
They are scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Mattawa on May 14, 2014.
