Suspended driver is arrested on Hwy 11

STRONG TWP - The Almaguin Highlands Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was patrolling Highway 11, Strong Township on Thursday February 20, 2014 at approximately 8:20 a.m. 

The officer stopped a vehicle for speeding and discovered that the driver had a suspended drivers licence.

Further investigating revealed that the driver was not the registered owner of the vehicle and when the owner was contacted they stated that the driver did not have permission to use their vehicle.

OPP arrested the driver, Trevor ROBERTSON (46) of Rexdale, Ontario and charged him with Driving while under suspension and speeding, contrary to the Highway Traffic Act of Ontario. 

The accused was also charged with take motor vehicle without consent, contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada.

The accused is to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Sundridge Ontario on Thursday, March 27, 2014.
