Champlain St man charged with assault police

At 12:30 a.m. on 14th Feb officers attended a dispute call when a man involved became unruly and punched, then spit on one of the officers.

Leslie Zielinski 42 years of Champlain St was subsequently arrested and charged with assault with intent to resist, and assault police.

He has been held in custody for a bail hearing.

Csts Zack Dagg and Geoff Whittle are investigating.
