Canadore College hosting 24nd Annual Cultural Gathering

This Saturday, Canadore College will be hosting the 24nd Annual Cultural Gathering organized by its Aboriginal Student Association.

This year’s theme is Honouring All My Relations and celebrates ancestral connections, values and beliefs.

The gathering will include drumming, dancing, Aboriginal arts and crafts, a traditional feast.

The pow-wow is an opportunity for the community to participate in a social and cultural event to help strengthen relationships.

Everyone is welcome to attend this one-day event to learn and grow through cultural exchange.

Date: Saturday, February 15, 2014

Time: Grand Entry at 12 p.m. and Feast at 5 p.m.

Location: Education Centre Campus Gymnasium, 100 College Drive, North Bay, Ont.

Emcee: Bob Goulais

Host Drum: Little Iron

Co-Host Drum: Poplar Singers

Head Male Dancer: McKenzie Ottereyes-Eagle

Head Female Dancer: Linda McLeod

Elders: Lorrainne Liberty-Whiteduck and Peter Beaucage
