Nipissing Nordic will be making a call for volunteers for the OUA Championships, so make space on your calendars for Feb. 21 to 23, either helping out or bringing more cow-bell to take part in some exciting ski racing on campus, downtown North Bay, and out at the North Bay Nordic Ski Club.
Volunteer Incentives: Enjoy the winter wonderland in North Bay, meet some fabulous athletes, artists and cool Canucks and special volunteer recognition. Also, you can get those much-needed volunteer hours for High School.
We are looking to fill several different Volunteer Roles:
Stadium Crew - Keeping the course clean, directing spectators and keeping the course clear for the competitors, collecting bibs, making sure athletes have a recovery beverages
Course Marshals - you are the keeper of the trails - ensure the track is clear of other skiers, take note of bib numbers of skiers that leave the course or exit the race, ensure coaches skiing on the course stay to the side.
Course Controllers - List keeper - check off list when skiers pass controller station, hand in the list at the end of the race
Banquet Volunteers - Assist with preparation and decoration of the banquet venue, greet attendees and assist at the door
Race Office volunteers - Assist with race office duties
