$63,700 in health grants handed out in the region

Four local health organizations are receiving a total of $63,700 in one-time funding for the 2013-14 funding year, Nipissing MPP Vic Fedeli announced today.

The funds are allocated toward First Nations, mental health and supportive housing services in Nipissing.

Monies include:

  • $35,800 to Nipissing Mental Health Housing and Support Services to support costs associated with the Supportive Housing Program
  • $16,200 to Nipissing First Nations Health Services to support diabetes service capacity and improve access to diabetes services in Aboriginal/First Nations communities
  • $8,600 to North Bay Recovery Home to support costs associated with the Supportive Housing Program
  • $3,100 to Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA) – Nipissing Regional Branch to support costs associated with the Supportive Housing Program

“I extend my sincere appreciation on behalf of Nipissing residents to our local health care professionals for their ongoing dedication to providing quality care and service,” said Fedeli.
