Wind chill warning in effect for the area Update

As of 11:10 AM EST Tuesday Environment Canada ended the wind chill warning for North Bay, Mattawa, Powassan, West Nipissing and the French River.

Environment Canada has issued a wind chill warning for North Bay, Mattawa, Powassan, West Nipissing and the French River:

Wind chill values dropping below minus 40 this evening until Tuesday morning when the winds become light.

Cold Arctic air has established itself over northwestern and Northeastern Ontario.

The combination of cold temperatures and moderate northwesterly winds is expected to produce wind chill values between minus 40 and 45 beginning this evening.

Winds will become light over Northwestern Ontario early Tuesday morning and east of Lake Superior later Tuesday morning.
