OPP News Release

WEST PARRY SOUND – Highway 400 is completely closed in the West Parry Sound District. Any remaining vehicles on the highway will be rerouted into Parry Sound at Bowes Street to seek shelter, food and gas.

Motorists are strongly encouraged to stay where they are until the weather clears.

Due to the dangerous road conditions, the West Parry Sound Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) will not be rerouting traffic down secondary roads.

Little to no visibility due to heavy winds and snow fall are causing extremely dangerous conditions.

Police are advising every motorist to stay off the road until the roads reopen.

*****

The West Parry Sound Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has closed Highway 400 at Hwy 124 in Parry Sound to Hwy 69 at Hwy 64 in Noelville.

The OPP strongly encourages motorists to stay where they are until the weather clears. Most of the province is experiencing severe weather conditions which cause dangerous conditions for motorists.

If you are travelling north to Sudbury, an alternate route of travel is to take Hwy 124 to Hwy 11 through North Bay then onto Hwy 17.
