OPP reminds public - Do not leave children unattended anywhere in public

City of Temiskaming Shores - Members of the Temiskaming Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a complaint on December 22, 2013 at approximately 11:00 p.m. 

A 17-year-old New Liskeard female was approached by a man operating a red Ford pick-up truck on Whitewood Avenue.  The man asked if she would like a ride. 

When she declined he told her to get into the vehicle.  She departed the scene and there was no further contact. 

The OPP reminds all members of the public to be aware of their personal safety, and that of children, at all times.

Please take time to discuss with your children in detail safety tips regarding the dangers of strangers. 

Do not leave your children unattended anywhere, for any length of time, when out in public.

Remember to encourage safety in numbers.
