An investigation into an assault that occurred on Main St E near Wyld St at 1:30 a.m. on the 30th Nov has resulted in the arrest of Jeffrey Hawkins 20 years of Bonfield.
It is alleged that a man bumped into him while he was getting in a cab so he punched the unsuspecting victim in the face knocking him unconscious then continued punching him until other persons pulled him off.
He has been charged with assault cause bodily harm and is to appear in court on the 28th Jan 2014.
