“Increasing the HST and hiking gas prices will hurt hard-working families in Northern Ontario when they can least afford it,” Ontario PC Finance Critic Vic Fedeli said today.

Last week, Kathleen Wynne revealed that she intended to raise taxes across the province in order to pay for Toronto transit.

Wynne’s ideas include:

•           A province-wide 10 cent increase on every litre of gasoline and diesel
•           A province-wide increase in the HST
•           An increase in corporate taxes

“Instead of reaching into the pockets of hard-working families time and time again, the Liberals need to focus on cutting the waste and getting this province back to work.”

“After Ornge, the gas plants and scandal at the OPG, we simply can’t trust Kathleen Wynne with more taxpayer money,” said Fedeli.

“That’s why it’s time to change the team that leads Ontario.”
