For the past two years 9-year-old Genevieve Dunn, the 2004 New Year’s baby, has been growing her hair in order to do something special -- make the life of a another child better.
“She’s had the idea to donate her hair to a cancer organization for all this time and has never changed her mind since the time she was 7,” her mom Micheline tells BayToday.
There is no better time than Christmas to give a special gift so this past Saturday Genevieve paid a visit to Jessica Manninger of Shear Design and realized her goal and had her locks cut off.
“This young woman has been such a gift to Andrew and I but when she does such unselfish acts of kindness,” states mom.
“I don’t even think she realizes what a great gift she has given to someone, we want to burst with joy.”
