The Ontario Provincial Police, Sudbury Detachment is advising motorists to use extra caution as current weather conditions have resulted in slippery and icy roads.
The icy road conditions are across our region, extreme in some areas. Numerous accidents have been reported.
Extra sanding/salting crews are on the road.
Drivers can do their part in ensuring that everyone gets to their destination safely by:
- giving yourself additional time to get to where you want to go
- reducing your speed; the speed limit is set for ideal conditions
- increasing your following distance which will give you time to react, if needed
