GCA encouraged by Minister Gravelle’s comments

The General Chairperson's Association (GCA) representing unionized employees at Ontario Northland met with Northern Development and Mines Minister Michael Gravelle and his staff on Monday December 9, 2013 in Toronto .

"We were encouraged by Minister Gravelle’s comments on the important role the unions play in the transformation of the ONTC and we have agreed to move to the next phase of the transformational process", said GCA spokesperson Brian Kelly.

"Minister Gravelle has asked us to work with Senior Management in a constructive dialogue about changes to the ONTC’s current operations including Ontera.  We are in the process of confirming future meeting dates", added Kelly.

"The GCA believes that with the continued support of all ONTC stakeholders that there is an opportunity to have a positive outcome on this critical issue for Northern Ontario", concluded Kelly.
