Widdifield Secondary School’s Free the Children group completed its fundraising for the Agriculture and Food Security Pillar with the presentation of a $5000 cheque to Me to We facilitators when they visited North Bay on November 21st.

The year long project which has involved more than 60 Wildcats from all grades, has raised funds through activities that provided value to the community - leaf raking, bake sales, casual day proceeds and donations.

Monies raised will be used by Free the Children to help those in Rural China.  Widdifield’s Free the Children group has raised in excess of $45 000 over the past 8 years to support global and local initiatives.

Free the Children is part of Craig and Mark Keilberger’s Me to We social enterprise.

The Near North District School Board is a proud sponsor of Me to We, with leadership training and community action programming built in to curriculum from grades 5 through 12.

Widdifield’s Free the Children group is  very excited to continue their local and international charity work throughout the year.
