Looking for a One-of-a-Kind gift this holiday season?
You may find it right here in South River, a piece of art created by a local artist from the Almaguin Highlands.
A group of local artists has taken over prime retail space at 100 Ottawa Ave in South River, Ontario to host regular eventing Christmas Open House gatherings during the month of December.
It’s an after hours opportunity to shop local for something that isn’t available anywhere else.
Ingrid O’Gorman who has arranged the events said, “There is jewelry, enamel on glass paintings, willow baskets and more, and it’s all local. I thought it would be a great way to bring together experienced artists who are well known in the area such as Doreen Wood and John McDermott alongside new and emerging artists who aren’t household names in the area.”
Since most of the artists are busy with other commitments during the day the focus will be on early evening art showings, so folks can stop by after work and see the beautiful works and meet one or more of the artists.
If desired, the works can be purchased and placed under the Christmas tree.
A few spaces for local artists who create one-of-a-kind pieces are still available.
