Many took in the Ontario Northland’s 2013 Christmas Train on Monday night, so much that train arrival was delayed by 10 minutes to accommodate people still arriving at the station.

Once the train arrived, it was a spectacle of lights with different areas of the train reserved for tours, a mini-concert and backdrops for photo opportunities.

Hot beverages were given out and the Discovery North Bay Museum also provided a merchandise table just inside the doors.

Santa Claus had a chair set up outside to speak with children making their Christmas wishes and amongst the crowd was Giant Tiger and Sarge, the North Bay Battalion mascot.

Speaking of the Troops, the Battalion bus was also decked out in holiday lights and parked inside the station for people to come aboard.

North Bay was the first stop for the train, which is expected to roll through Temagami, Cobalt, Earlton and Englehart this week.
